Children’s Home

When the Jambo Jipya school opened in 2004, Christine Mwende tried to assist children in need by placing them in a safe environment and providing food and other assistance. As the needs began to increase, the children began living at the school. In 2011, Reason2Smile was able to provide the rent for a children’s home close to the school. In 2013, the older boys (over the age of 16) began living at a separate boys’ home. Both homes were supported by Reason2Smile and cared for about 23 children and teens.

Both homes have changed locations since 2013 but currently Reason2Smile is supporting 15 students.
