About Reason 2 Smile

Reason2Smile was officially incorporated in March 2009 and the non-profit paperwork is currently being processed!  A board of directors was created in March 2009 and the group of highly passionate individuals has met quarterly since then.  

Although Reason2Smile currently only supports one school and orphanage in Kenya (Jambo Jipya School), we are looking to broaden our support base.  If you are an organization in a developing country who supports orphaned and at-risk children and is looking for financial support in order to move toward a more sustainable environment, please view our "Request for Support Application" to see if you may qualify for assistance.  Your qualification will both be dependent on your organization's activities and the funds we have available.  Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Keela Dates is the executive director of Reason2Smile.  With the support of her board members and other enthusiastic individuals, Keela works daily to provide both immediate and long-term financial stability for Jambo Jipya School.  She does this through connecting with donors; producing a monthly newsletter; presenting to schools, churches, civic organizations; etc.  Keela is also the liaison between Jambo Jipya and the Reason2Smile Board of Directors.  She communicates weekly with the director of Jambo Jipya School in Kenya and travels to Kenya at least once per year.  Keela hopes to move Reason2Smile to the position where they can support more organizations like Jambo Jipya School who are helping orphaned and at-risk children in developing countries.
